The Best of 2008
Heck, why not. Nothing else to blog about right now with today being a day of hiking and snowshoeing. So below are my "Best of the year 2008."
Best New Race: Dakota 5-O
Excellent course...good camping....and cool people! 300 racers in 2008. How many in 2009?
Best Race that I Raced: Vapor Trail 125
I chose this last year as well...and for good reason. Here is this years race report. Starts in the dark....and hopefully you finish before it gets dark again. 20,000 ft of climbing. 125 miles. A lot of alone time on top of Colorado's highest peaks. It's survival of the fittest.
Best Race that I didn't Race: Offenburg World Cup
20,000 people....the World's best xc racers....Germany....the smell of grilled encased meat products & beer floating through the air. Click here and check out the video!
Best Training or Racing Aide: SRM power meter and LW Coaching.
Together it's a lethal combo. Kill! Kill! Kill!
Best Food Find: Sushi happy hour at Hapa on Pearl St. in Boulder
Cheap good sushi.....Amen!
Best Road Trip: Team camp, photo shooting, and Wiens pointing to the summit during a training ride....all in Germany.

Best New Product I Tried This Year: Magura front suspension
Light, stiff, and smooth. Everything you need...nothing you don't. Can it get better?
Best All-Around Ride: Colorado Trail outside of Copper Mountain....and parts beyond.
Best Picture I Took: Hiking at Cameron Pass....epic views!

Best Picture Someone Took of Me: Amasa Back in Moab
Such a contrast in colors!

Best "I don't think I am going to make it" moment: Running out of water on the 12+ hour Rim Ride in Moab.
Dehydration and conserving water is a bitch!
Best Purchase I Made In '08: It's a tie: The Bodum french press and a LW Coaching training plan
Biggest time suck of 2008: Facebook
Will you be my buddy?
Best New Climb: Trail Ridge Rd from Estes Park to Grand Lake...and back
Best of the Best of 2008: Sonya
All together now...."Awwwwww."
