A 4 hour tempo

Indian summer? Nah, just a nice warm 65 degree day in CO. Good enough weather to get in a solid 4 hour tempo on some rolling terrain. Map above (zoom out to see entire route) is the route that Jason and I put out today....along with every other cyclist in the Boulder area. You would have thought it was RAGBRAI on some of the roads we rode on because of all the cyclists.

Climbing up Lefthand Canyon
Jason keeps tempo up Lefthand Canyon early in the ride.

Natural spring in Ward, COWe made our way up to Ward and filled up bottles for the remaining miles on the Peak-to-Peak Hwy and the drop into Lyons. Attention Trek/Fisher, you need to get Jason on a new road bike.

Peak-to-Peak HwyPeak-to-Peak Hwy was crazy windy today...and about 20 degrees cooler than it was in Boulder. Guess it is to be expected when you are just over 4,000 feet higher than when you started.

Remainder of the ride was pretty uneventful. Nothing put 35+ mph descent to Lyons followed by rolling terrain back South to Boulder. Weekend of 4 hour rides is now complete. Time for a day off the bike to let the body rebuild. Also need to do some bike maintenance...as the road bike as acquired a "creeking" noise.
