Bike & Hike

BikeWeather has totally thrown the training for a loop this weekend. Roads are 90% covered in snow/slush. All of CO is pretty much in a winter weather advisory and/or warning all weekend. So this early AM was spent of the rollers. Short and to the point.

HikeAfter the rollers, I rounded up the Beyond Clothing, Ergon BD2, and my Gore-Tex Salomon shoes and headed out to Devil's Backbone for a 2.5 hour winter hike. Temps when I started where right at 28 degrees F. By the time I got back...it had dropped to 18 degrees F and was starting to sleet/snow. Would have cool to put one of the new Ergon outdoor packs through the trenches.

Hike
Pictures are in black and white, but they don't look a whole lot different from the colored photos. Sky was white....as was the ground. Pretty "blah" conditions. Some folks decided to head to Cameron Pass...Hmmmmmm.
Risk taker!

HikeThe high-point pose for the camera shot looking down over the Blue Sky Trail area. Time to turn around and head back home.
