Exploring the outer limits
Finally got back on the bike today. Headed out around 1:00 after tending to Ergon tasks, and waiting for the internet to get hook up in the house. Only goal for today, per Coach, was to get in bike time with no training objective other than exploring the local trail flavor. I saddled up at the house and rode up to Horsetooth Mountain Park. There are a ton of trails within the park...plus it connects to Lory State Park to the North. I pretty much picked one trail and went with it. Funny thing is that is was prolly the hardest trail in the park. I went up the Towers Trail which, as the name states, heads to the radio towers at the top of the foot hills. It tops out at around 7500 feet where there was still some of yesterdays snow hang'n out in the shady areas. The house sits at around 4300 feet...so there was a good bit of climbing today. I topped out....turned around and went back down. Then rode over through the State park....and back down behind the CSU football stadium. I ended up getting home around 4:30. It was a good ride....and with high temps near 70 tomorrow I prolly be head'n back that direction.
