24 Hours of Moab

DSCF0003.JPGGot into Moab around 11 AM after a 6 hour drive from Ft. Collins. Since I couldn't check into the hotel, I headed out to the venue to set up the Ergon tent. After a quick tent set up...it was time to saddle up with Ergon athletes Dave and Lynda. Dave is racing solo...and Lynda is supporting him. I am betting on a podium spot for Dave this weekend. Dude is super focused. I go as far as saying obsessed.

Moab would not be Moab with out a ton of sand and a hike-a-bike in the first mile of the course. Geez!

DSCF0010.JPGThis is one picture that pretty much sums up the course when you say...."24 Hours of Moab."

I am glad there was people at the bottom of Nose Dive HIll. Finally, a picture that gives you an idea of this death trap. It's hard enough to just walk down. Yep, a few have the balls to ride it. Not me. Now....imagine riding it at 2 AM in the dark!

DSCF0014.JPGAhhhhh, a bit of recovery.

I am placing money on the fact that some racer WILL fall into this 4 foot deep washout during the night hours.

DSCF0024.JPGDave pounding out the final miles of the 15 miles laps.

DSCF0034.JPGThe masses start to build for the weekend party. And when I say masses I mean thousands!

DSCF0035.JPGThe gear junkies held their monthly meeting today. Sager, Bart, and Dave talk tech.

DSCF0038.JPGAmen for the FJ. The road into the venue is known to swallow small cars.
