Whipped Good!

Ok, I am back. I feel like I just got ran over by a truck...then backed over...then stomped on...then backed over again. Why? Cause the ride today was long and windy. The distance was not a factor. But throw in a SSE wind blowing at a sustained 22ish mph and you have all the makings for a long day in the saddle.

wind!

My original plan for today was 6 hours of solo road riding followed by the road group ride. Well I made it 5.5 hours by myself, and decided that was enough. Go West and North was pretty fun. You could cruise down the road at 25 mph with hardly any effort. But going South and East was another story. I was happy if I saw 17 mph. It was like one huge climb. I am not sure what is harder a 40 minute climb or 40 minutes into a headwind. Atleast a climb you can get into a groove. With the wind you would be going...then get behind a grove...then BANG right back in your face. Ahhhhhhh, will it ever end.

Well, anywho, my ride took me all over the place. I am not sure of mileage, but I think it was right around 120. Here is a list of the towns I passed through or by.
  • Cedar Falls
  • Waterloo
  • Hudson
  • Eagle Center
  • Dysart
  • Clutier
  • Garwin
  • Gladbrook
  • Lincoln
  • Reinbeck
  • Dike
  • New Hartford
  • Cedar Falls
After I got back into town, I swung through GW State Park for a cool down, and then back home. Now its time for a bit of R and R. I need to elevate the legs while reading the new issue of VeloNews.

Oh, by the way, Lazer Helmets has jumped on as a Cateye Enduro sponsor. I can't wait to get my mellon inside a bit of Euro brain bucket goodness.

Down and out...1...2....3...4...5...6...7....8....9....9.5.....9.8.....10....TKO
