Enduro Freaks

It's been awhile since I've posted, and I thought I'd let you in on what's up in Ted's world. Thanks to Jeff, who has exposed me to this whole "enduro racer" thing, I now am getting schooled on just how many "freaks" there are out there. First, there is the whole 24 hour solo thing. Then you have the Trans Iowa thing, which is a whole different level. We, ( Jeff and I) still get some e-mails about people interested in that! Maybe that'll stop, once it's over? (Not likely!) Then there is the Alaskan Idita-sport madness, that Jeff referenced recently, and that is just way over the top!

So, now I get an e-mail about some other folks wanting to do a "Trans Iowa" type event in another state! We haven't even run the very first Trans Iowa, and we are getting "copy-catters"! I guess I just don't get it. I mean- how many of you are there? There must be WAY MORE than I ever imagined. It's cool, I am just surprised!

And NO! I am not revealing who is considering doing a "Trans Iowa" type event in another state! Just keep that one in the back of your mind, and let it go! It wouldn't happen THIS year, even IF, ( and that's a mighty big IF!) it EVER does happen. Just the mere fact that somebody is so taken by the idea, to want to imitate it, well....that's cool!

So, is cross country racing, as I remember it, on the skids? RE-ACT TO ME! ENDURO FREAK!!! Tell me what is up! My feeling is- YES, the XC race is going to have to change, or it will die way down. I didn't say it would die out. There will always be a roadie or two that wants to get dirty for awhile!

Bussiness at the shop is pickin' up, which is good! We all just need it to get warmer up here in Iowa. I'm gettin' tired of bein' cold, just like I do everytime about March 1st, or so. Anyway, thanks for reading, and good luck with your season! It's bustin' loose! ( or about too!)
